Who We Are 

Mélanie-Vivianne Piette 

(Teacher- Voice, Theory, Theatre, Stage Craft) 


 

           Born in Montréal and spending much of her childhood in Cornwall ON, Mélanie is fluently bilingual Having acquired a passion for music within the family circle and by watching her lifelong idol Céline Dion develop into the star she is today, she knew from an early age that she would pursue a musical career. At 14, she auditioned for and was accepted into the «Program of The Arts» where studied under Brian McCartney & Helen McAlear and later on with Mary Riley of the Canadian National Vocal Institute, whom she met after placing 3rd at the National Festival of Music 

    Being a girl with many talents, she was active as a model and as a local actress, having appeared in such plays as; Little Shop of Horrors, Grease, Fame and “What about Me?»,  as well as appearing on television and radio. 


Having worked with other musical artists such as Yves Sauriol, Simon Carpentier, Christopher Millington, Anna Liani (of Cirque Du Soleil) and many other artists, it was an original song that caught the interest of Mélanie's hometown radio, CHOD FM.  Though this song, "Pour un intant d'amour" (For One Moment of love) was aired for the first time in October of 2001it would not be officially released until January 2002, where it entered the French Pop charts in the top 30!! It later went to be among the top 10!!  


    Mélanie began teaching music at 19 through a music school in Montréal and while Mélanie has high expectations for every student, she tries to make lessons fun and keeps learning fresh!
